Asmadi Games opens prerelease preorders for Impulse [Link] This is very exciting news for me. This was one of the best games I demoed at Gen Con. It combines Carl Chudyk's multi-use cards we've come to know and love with the spatial elements of an epic space board game. This is a print-on-demand title, and the components will be better in the final published version, but those who preorder this edition will get 50% off the final version. I preordered mine...

A Game Designer on Mars (an interview with Ben Rosset)
Mars Needs Mechanics, the second game released from Nevermore Games, was a hit on Kickstarter last September, raising over $45,000. The game shipped to backers this summer and has just recently arrived at game stores. We'll post our review of the game in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, we had a chance to talk with the game's designer, Ben Rosset, about Mars Needs Mechanics.

More Shadows, More Camelot
Not to be outdone in the Camelot space (see this Kickstarter campaign), Days of Wonder has announced its own traitor-in-the-midst Camelot game, Shadows over Camelot: The Card Game. This game is based on their award-winning game Shadows over Camelot and features gorgeous artwork (much like the original game) and decent components for a $25 price tag. According to Days of Wonder, the game should see an Essen 2012 release. Let's hope the Indie Boards & Cards and Days of Wonder booths aren't next to each other. Awkward...
